Abbie Chatfield has taken a swipe at her former Bachelor rival Elly Miles for attending a booze-fueledpool party hours after attending a change the date protest.
On Wednesday, the… Get Me Out Of Here! star, 25, said that it is the ‘easiest f**king decision’ to stay away from celebrations on January 26 in a scathing statement posted on Instagram.
Abbie began: ‘You aren’t being the change if you’re participating in harmful traditions.
Not happy: Abbie Chatfield (left) has appeared to blast her former Bachelor rival Elly Miles (right) in a scathing statement about Australia Day hypocrisy
‘It is the EASIEST f**king decision. To just NOT. Hottest 100 is now on the Saturday, you can celebrate the long weekend with your friends then. I did! Without an Australian flag in sight.’
While she didn’t name names, Abbie added that people should have used the public holiday to learn more about the day itself, and ‘broaden your understanding of the harm colonization has caused’.
‘The level of cognitive dissonance in believing that you can ACTUALLY attend a rally and then just pop on over to your pool party is something else,’ she continued.
‘If you were *actually* listening to speakers at these rallies, you wouldn’t be able to have fun in the afternoon. You’d want to dig deeper, feel a responsibility to be uncomfortable and to hopefully learn something,’ she added.
Fuming: Abbie shared the furious message on her Instagram page, saying it should have been the ‘easiest f**king decision’ to not attend a pool party
‘Anyway, my followers all know this. Will chat about it next week on the pod.’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted a representative for Abbie for further comment.
While Abbie didn’t specifically name Elly, her post comes after the former Bachelorette issued a public apology for attending the boozy pool party hours after delivering a sombre speech about how painful Australia Day can be for Indigenous people.
Addressing the furore in an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 26-year-old wrote: ‘To answer people’s comments from yesterday, there is nothing else I can say in this situation other than “I am sorry”.
‘I had a complete lapse of judgment and have a lot of regret for my actions. I sincerely apologise for upsetting anyone,’ she added.

‘Be the change’: On Tuesday morning, the Bondi influencer uploaded a video of herself delivering a sombre speech about how painful Australia Day can be for Indigenous people, before sharing a photo of herself attending an ‘Invasion Day’ protest in Sydney (pictured)
‘I stand by my attendance at the Change the Date protest and feel that it is an incredibly important issue. I truly wasn’t being insincere with my attendance.
‘I know how it looks, we all make mistakes – I made one yesterday and all I can say once again, from the bottom of my heart, is that I truly am sorry.’
In her speech on Tuesday morning, Elly told fans ‘it would just be so good if we could change the date’ and insisted she would love ‘everybody in Australia to celebrate Australia on a day that isn’t severely traumatic and awful for our Indigenous cultures’.
‘If you feel like you don’t know enough, have a conversation. Like start a conversation, that’s how my view has changed,’ she said.
Not a care in the world! That afternoon, Elly shared a video of herself attending a backyard pool party
‘Because growing up I had celebrated Australia Day but I just didn’t know any better. And it took me to have conversations with some Indigenous friends and work colleagues for me to truly understand the meaning of the day for Indigenous culture, and it’s not good,’ she added.
A few hours after this thoughtful speech, Elly shared a video of herself attending a backyard pool party.
‘Get me to the pool,’ Elly wrote as she posed in a bathrobe and snakeskin bikini.
Throughout the festivities, Elly was seen drinking with pals, taking shots of tequila and posing for busty mirror selfies.
‘I had a complete lapse of judgment and have a lot of regret for my actions. I sincerely apologise for upsetting anyone,’ she wrote
