Is that the relay baton? Italian decathlete’s race is ruined when he has to cover his genitals with his hand after he competed without underwear…and kept popping out of his shorts

An Italian decathlete’s race was ruined when he was forced to slow down and cover his genitals with his hands after he entered the competition without underwear.
Alberto Nonino was running the 400-metre race at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia when he experienced the mishap.
The 18-year-old Italian started last night’s race strong, coming around the first bend in a good position – putting himself well in contention to go on and seal the win.
However, it soon become obvious that he was experiencing discomfort, with footage of the race showing him looking down to check on his shorts.
It was then that he realised he had accidentally exposed himself, and while he tried to stay in the race, he had to use his hands to cover himself up.

Despite Nonino’s best efforts, the problem persisted several more times as he ran down the back straight and around the final two bends.
But his race was not over yet. As he continued to tuck his manhood back into shorts, he was able to impressively overtake two of his rivals.
However, as he reached the final straight, the other runners began pulling away.
Nonino, with his mind elsewhere and in a desperate attempt to maintain his dignity, slowed down while using his hands to hide his genitals from the crowd.
As the seven runners covered the final metres, the Italian fell behind – and crossed the finish line in last place, with a time of 51.57 seconds. According to World Athletics, his 400m personal best is 51.12 seconds.
The press attributed Nonino’s short-related issues as being the reason behind his sudden slow-down. Journalist David Sanchez de Castro didn’t hold back in his description of the embarrassing incident on Twitter.

‘Last series of the 400 meters decathlon. The Italian Alberto Nonino in lane five begins very well but crosses the finishing line last. He had his p**** out, literally,’ Sanchez told his followers.
Nonino alluded to his problems in a post on Instagram.
‘I just want to talk to you a little bit about the rumpus there’s been on blogs and social media in general,’ he said in his Instagram story.
‘I’m conscious it was obviously an accident and I’d like to tell you I’m aware of the reaction and you don’t need to send me the links to the blogs out there.
‘I’m trying to laugh about it now but immediately afterwards I felt terrible and I’m thankful to my friends and family for helping me get over what happened a few hours later.’
The decathlon involved athletes competing across 10 separate events across two days. The first day consists of: 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400m. The second day’s events are 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m.
