BREAKING NEWS: Fallen footy star Ben Barba is charged with a serious assault offence
Fallen NRL star Ben Barba has been charged with assault and is due to face a Queensland court on Thursday.
Barba was to appear at Mackay Local Court following his arrest and charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Details of the allegation are yet to emerge.
Barba tried to resurrect his NRL career with the Cowboys but was sacked before playing a game after an incident with his partner at a Townsville casino.
Barba was most recently linked to a possible move to the US to play rugby league.
