The movie star will join Leslie Grace (who is playing Batgirl) and Jacob Scipio; Christina Hodson wrote the script.

The plot will be focused on the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl, who was first introduced as Betty Kane in 1961.

The Batgirl film comes after Brendan experienced a resurgence in his decades long movie career, with a series of high-profile roles.

His career resurgence in 2021 began with a role in Steven Soderbergh’s movie No Sudden Move, followed by a lead role in Darren Aronofsky’s film The Whale.

Martin Scorsese then cast him in a role in the movie Killers of the Flower Moon, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro as guest stars.

Brendan was also cast in the comedy Brothers, which also stars Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage.

He also stars on the DC Universe/HBO Max series Doom Patrol as Cliff Steele.

In August 2021, Brendan got choked up during an interview with a fan who cosplayed as his Mummy character Rick O’Connell.

He said to the fan, TikTok user @LittleLottieCosplay: ‘I’m in Oklahoma. That’s better. I’m going to work with [Martin] Scorsese and Leo [DiCaprio] and Bob de Niro [in Killers of the Flower Moon.’

‘I think I might be sick, a little anxious. I mean, it’s going to be fine.’

The fan told him that he’s ‘got this’ and that ‘the Internet is so behind you,’ adding: ‘We’re so supporting.’

She continued: ‘There are so many people out there who love you, and we’re rooting for you, and we can’t wait to see what you do next.’

Brendan took a sip of his water and tipped his cowboy hat he was wearing, as he said ‘Shucks, ma’am,’ while getting emotional.
