VH1 is sexing up the holidays this year with a slate of “Naughty or Nice” Christmas movies that are definitely not for the kiddies.

“We wanted to break the mold in a loud way,” Nina L. Diaz, present of content for MTV Entertainment Group, told. “Christmas movies usually offer comfort food, which is great. But Christmas films that are disruptive, edgy and more diverse are long overdue.

In “Let’s Get Merried” (Dec. 13 at 9 p.m.) — executive-produced by— a “bachelorette weekend at a Christmas-themed adventure park gets all kinds of holly jolly when a hard-partying, down-on-her-luck, holiday-hater decides to get married.” Stars include Mishel Prada, Tahj Mowry, Nicole Power and Xosha Roquemore.
“Miracles Across 125th Street (Dec 20 at 9 p.m.) features Cannon as a Harlem rapper who, after battling drug addiction, “returns to his family’s church to confront his past on Christmas Eve.” He’s joined by Lil’ Kim, Tommy Davidson, Rickey Smiley, Teyana Taylor and others.
There’s also “Adventures in Christmasing,” which premiered Monday night, in which “a highly successful and meticulous talk show host” (played by) finds her holiday upended “when her network persuades her to spend three days in the wild with superstar adventurer & television survivalist Finn Holt (Adrian Holmes) for a holiday television event.” Fields is an executive producer and collaborated with Rhonda Baraka on the idea for the movie.
“I enjoy the genre, but I especially enjoy pushing the envelope in the genre,” Fields told the LA Times.
