Clint Frazier has a landing spot.
The former Yankees outfielder is nearing a one-year deal with the Cubs,. Frazier, 27, following a disappointing 2021 season which began with him as the starting left fielder.
Though he was a highly touted prospect, once the centerpiece of the Andrew Miller deal, Frazier was never able to stick in The Bronz thanks to inconsistency both on the field and at the plate. In the last five seasons, he never played over 70 games with the Yankees, shuttling between the big leagues and Triple-A.
Things reached a nadir this past season, when Frazier had a career-low .633 OPS in the majors. He didn’t play after June 30 due to health issues.
