P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards and influencer Tanja Gacic were once inseparable pals, regularly seen posing for Instagram selfies or taking strolls through Bondi.
But in recent months, the duo – who have been friends for over 20 years – appear to be living separate lives, and with very different views on the world.
While fully-vaccinated Pip, 41, is jetting off to the USA and frequenting glitzy events across Sydney, My Empirical Life blogger Tanja has used her platform to oppose mandatory vaccinations and support ‘freedom day’ protests against lockdowns.

Tanja, also 41, attended one such protest last month, sharing a photo of herself at the rally captioned: ‘I’m proud to be here, with the people, opposing totalitarian government overreach.’
The fashion influencer stated in the caption that she comes from a ‘line of anti fascist warriors’ as she listed factors she feels are contributing to ‘fascism’ in Australia.
‘Current state proposed legislation changes, obscuring and manipulation of data and information, media propaganda, Pfizergate (sic), ignoring and minimising human rights in courts and attempts at unprecedented emergency powers by some of our leaders are exactly how fascism operated,’ she wrote.
‘This is the hill I die on – democracy or bust,’ she added.

In the posts, Gacic also referred to herself as a ‘citizen journalist’.
It’s the stark opposite of what Pip – who hasn’t been pictured with Tanja since May this year – has been getting up to, only recently returning from a lavish trip to the US to celebrate the launch of her new swimwear collection.
Pip would, of course, needed to have been double vaccinated to enter the country – and while there, she was spotted letting her hair down at a star-studded bash and enjoying a glass of Champagne with pals.
Upon her return, Pip headed straight to the elite Moët & Chandon Effervescence event on Wednesday, one which could only be attended by double-vaxxed celebrities.
Tanja has been a strong advocate against mandatory vaccination for months, according to posts she had shared on her social media channels.

Getting vaccinated significantly reduces your chance of becoming seriously ill with Covid, and health experts say widespread vaccine uptake is the only way Australia will end the cycle of lockdowns.
According to, two high profile publicity agents have since cut ties with the influencer due to her controversial views.
The publication says they contacted Gacic and her management about her stance on vaccination earlier this year – and at the time, Gacic stated she was vaccinated.
Either way, the influencer’s controversial views and conspiracy theories have caused her name to shoot to headlines recently.
Last month, Gacic shared a copy of the Nuremberg Code, which is a set of rules created after WWII to address human medical experimentation, to her account to further argue her point about freedom.
‘This is a hugely personal issue to me because many of my ancestors died to have these human rights enshrined into universal human law – codes like these transformed our societies from dictatorships and totalitarianisms into democracies,’ she captioned the post.
Pals: Months earlier, Pip and Tanja were often pictured together – including when the activewear designer split with on/off boyfriend Michael Clarke
She later added: ‘If it’s #mybodymychoice then it’s always that, no matter what. Bodily autonomy rights shouldn’t even be something up for discussion in the 21st century.’
‘Say it with me: Segregation and medical apartheid is never ok #unity #unityindiversity.’
On Monday, Tanja shared some of her opinions about the recent freedom protests she has attended online.
She wrote: ‘I’m 41 now, and have spent the last two decades of my life fighting for all sorts of causes; environmental, gay, indigenous, black and women’s rights.
‘This doesn’t make me anti-science, anti-straight people, anti-white people or anti-men. This simply means that I care we ALL have equal rights and freedoms, while being governed by humans possessing empathy, intelligence, integrity and wisdom.’

‘Roses are red, and so are we,’ Pip captioned the shot with Tanja, which came just days after the news of her break-up with Michael. The couple later reunited.

‘It was allllll faarrrrshion tonight at the @romancewasborn show, with my wing woman @myempiricallife… Only #romancewasborn can make me wanna wear florals,’ Pip captioned a photo of the pair.
While they may not have been spotted together recently, it appears the duo are still friends and follow each other on Instagram.
Tanja even wrote a column in Vogue about her two decade-long friendship with Pip in October 2019, writing: ‘Pip Edwards and I have been friends for 20 years, way back when we had terrible hairstyles, wore questionable clothes and did a lot of dancing on the weekends.
‘We both had kids before any of our friends and then navigated heartbreak, single motherhood and career life in parallel timing, so these days when life gives both of us a snippet of free time at the same time, we like to live it all the way up.’
As well as having almost 40,000 Instagram followers, Tanja also runs a lifestyle and fashion blog called My Empirical Life and has a daughter named Coco.
