Push to help hacked Optus customers receive replacement documents English Headline

The federal Opposition has called on the Albanese government to help millions of customers affected by the Optus data breach to receive replacement passports.

Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones indicated to Englishheadline Australia on Wednesday he would expect Optus to fund the passports.

Meanwhile, some states have committed to covering the costs of driver’s licence replacements such as Queensland and South Australia.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says the state government will issue licences to those affected but is going to “seek some compensation from Optus”, although stating it is “unlikely” it will receive funding.
