It has been revealed the Morrison government spent a record $240 million on advertising during its final year in office.

The spending represents a 65% increase on the previous year as the Coalition launched advertisements on the economic and COVID recovery ahead of the election in May, according to The Australian.

As a result, the former federal government outspent some of the country’s biggest advertisers including Harvey Norman and Woolworths.
