Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s highly-anticipated Netflix docuseries will reportedly hit the streaming platform in just over two weeks.

The series which will showcase the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s “love story” will be released on December 9 in Australia, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

It was originally reported that Netflix bosses has postponed its release after they copped harsh backlash over the controversial new season The Crown – which was released within a month of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

“They’re rattled at Netflix and they blinked first and decided to postpone the documentary,” a source told Deadline on October 17.

The streaming giant was accused of “muckraking” King Charles and Princess Diana’s crumbling marriage – with insiders claiming the retelling “couldn’t come at a more delicate time for the new King”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed the multiyear deal reportedly worth around $100 million with the streaming giant, for a range of content including documentaries, feature films, scripted shows and children’s programming and the forthcoming docuseries.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the pair said in a statement.

“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

It comes a day after Meghan Markle fans were left baffled after NBC announced the she was set to appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in two weeks to discuss the Netflix docuseries -which was then immediately denied by a close friend.

A now deleted link appeared on the network’s website on Tuesday with the headline “How to Watch Meghan Markle on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” – announcing the Duchess would be sitting down with the American comedian on December 7.

However, within minutes the California-living royal’s unofficial assistant Omid Scobie contradicted the claim.

“Looks like someone at NBC didn’t get the memo! Despite an announcement via their various PR channels, Meghan isn’t scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show,” he tweeted.

The former Suits actress’ appearance on the show was originally due to take place in September but was cancelled after Queen Elizabeth II died.

The popular talk show is filmed in New York City, which is where the pair will be on December 6 to receive with the 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope award.

Fans and critics of the Archetypes podcast host were quick to jump on Scobie’s tweet.

“I got happy for nothing?!” one disappointed user responded.

“Meghan told another one of her lies,” another replied

“That’s very odd indeed. Major miscommunication. Is that like those announcements where Meghan and Harry broadcast their upcoming attendance at an event in the hope of being invited?” a third person said.
