Australia’s inflation looks to be ‘peaking’ #Australias #inflation #peaking #englishheadline

KPMG Australia Senior Economist and Partner Sarah Hunter says it does look as though Australia’s inflation is “peaking” right now and is likely to be “coming back down”.

“And peaking for all the reasons we expected,” she told Englishheadline Australia.

Australia’s annual inflation rate dropped from 7.3 per cent to 6.9 per cent, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ latest CPI data.

“We can see the impact of the fuel excise duty being raised back up to its previous level, and we can also see how food prices are playing through,” Ms Hunter said.
