A teenage boy has been killed and another is in hospital after a car ploughed into them in Sydney’s northwest on Wednesday morning.
Police have confirmed a 17-year-old boy died at the scene in the Sydney suburb of Carlingford.
He has not yet been formally identified.
Another teenage boy has been taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital.
His condition remains unknown.
Both teenagers are believed to be pedestrians and students at Carlingford High School.
A 90-year-old woman was behind the wheel of the car when it struck a tree and collided with a silver van in a car park.
She had to be cut from her Mitsubishi Lancer sedan by emergency responders.
The driver was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police confirmed to Englishheadline an investigation into the crash was still ongoing.
“Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit,” NSW Police said.
