A popular pram sold at Baby Bunting has been recalled over fears it could lead to a child’s finger being amputated.

The Ridge All Terrain Jogging Stroller, manufactured by Coolkidz Australia, has an issue with the disc brake, Product Safety Australia announced on Friday.

Holes in the brake disc are large enough to catch the finger of a child on all 0401 models manufactured between October 2021 and August 2022. A child not seated in the stroller could insert their finger in the brake disc which may lead to it being sliced off, the ACCC warned.

The Ridge All Terrain Jogging Stroller is sold at popular baby stores including Baby Bunting, and other independent retailers.

Impacted customers will be supplied with a replacement set of discs together with comprehensive instructions on how to change them.

Customers are advised to contact Coolkidz for more information.

Baby rockers lead to strangulation

Last month, Product Safety Australia issued an urgent recall of several baby rocker models after a 10-month-old child died and another was injured overseas.

Australians were urged to check the model number of MamaRoo and rockaRoo infant swings and rockers sold nationally between 14 May 2018 and 28 September 2022 following the incidents with further strangulation fears.

At the time, more than two million were already recalled in the United States and Canada, with models 4moms mamaRoo Multi-motion Baby Swing 4.0 and rockaRoo Baby Rocker proving problematic.

“When not in use, and an infant is not secured in the swing or rocker, the restraint straps may dangle below the seat,” a statement said. “If a child becomes tangled in the strap, they may be strangled”.
