NSW Police have released terrifying footage of the moment a female jogger was attacked from behind in Sydney’s west as detectives hunt for the assailant.
The woman was jogging along Railway Parade in Lidcombe on December 29 at about 6:50pm, when a man grabbed and assaulted her from behind.
As part of ongoing inquiries, police have now released shocking vision of the alleged assault in a bid to try and identify the attacker.
In the footage, a man dressed in dark clothing can be seen running behind the woman before grabbing her face and shoving her to the ground.
After a brief struggle the man then runs away, leaving the woman startled.
The woman did not suffer any serious injuries, police said.
Police described the man as being of Asian appearance, aged somewhere between 20 to 25 years old, about 170 cm tall, of thin build, with black, shoulder-length hair.
At the time, the man was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt, dark coloured track pants with white stripes, and white shoes.
Anyone who may be able to identify the man or witnessed the attack is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
