ASPI Defence Strategist Michael Shoebridge says the AUKUS agreement is “more important” to Australia than to the United States or the United Kingdom.

“Neither of them can afford AUKUS being an Australian charity case, it has to help both the UK and US security,” Mr Shoebridge told commentator Steve Price.

“The worst approach to AUKUS is seeing it as the Americans and the British helping us make our own cottage industry from producing just our own nuclear submarines.”
