Wages in the September quarter last year grew faster than any other time since 2013, increasing one per cent to be 3.1 per cent higher over the year.

It comes as the government hoses down suggestions the country’s inflation challenge is because of Australia’s pay being too high.

This boost in pay can be attributed to the Fair Work Commission’s decision last year to lift the minimum wage which was backed at the time by the Albanese government.
