Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has spoken to Englishheadline Australia in a wide-ranging interview in which he was questioned about the spike in crime in the Alice Springs and how the ongoing law and order issues may be addressed.
Speaking to Englishheadline Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Mr Albanese said he was “absolutely convinced” there needed to be a response to the spike in criminal activity in Alice Springs.
Mr Albanese visited Alice Springs on Tuesday and announced some measures with Chief Minister Natasha Fyles to curb the violence in the community.
“Clearly, there is a need for a response,” Mr Albanese said.
“It’s not a simple issue, it’s not something that will be worked through with just slogans, but it’s something that does require a response of all levels of government.”
