The Myanmar junta has ordered Australian Sean Turnell to return to the country for potential further jail time less than a month after he was released.
The economist was an advisor to Myanmar politician Aung San Suu Kyi but was later arrested when her government was overthrown.
He spent 21 months in jail after he was charged for breaching state secrets.
Myanmar officials want the 58-year-old to face court after he publicly criticised the regime following his return to Australia.
The Australian Government has advised Mr Turnell not to travel over concerns he could be extradited to Myanmar.
