Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor says the new economic figures released on Wednesday show Australia’s inflation is “stubbornly persistent”.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed the annual rate increased to 7.8 per cent in the year to December, the highest peak since 1990.
“This is a big number, it’s above expectations,” Mr Taylor told Englishheadline Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
