Former Labor minister Stephen Conroy says China is “playing people for mugs” as they continue to build coal-fired power stations while western countries continue to switch them off.

“I don’t know how long this pattern’s got to go on before, you know, the rest of the world wakes up to China’s behaviour,” Mr Conroy told Englishheadline host Andrew Bolt.

“Just ignore what they say, watch what they do.”
