There are plenty of forecasts suggesting electricity prices will jump 20 per cent this year, and gas prices by 30 per cent or more.
Tomorrow the Australian Energy Regulator will release its draft determination for the default market offer for 2023-24 which will set out the maximum price retailers can charge electricity customers on default contracts.
The default market offer is for New South Wales, Southeast Queensland and South Australia – regions that have no retail price regulation.
