A pilot is in a critical condition in hospital after a plane crashed at Sydney’s Bankstown Airport on Friday.
The light aircraft reportedly flipped on impact while landing, trapping the 60-year-old pilot as a large amount of fuel began to leak from the plane.
Fire and Rescue crews covered the area in fire retardant while they worked to free the pilot – who was taken to Liverpool Hospital with chest, arm and spinal injuries.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the cause of the crash.
