Farmers in Western Australia are frustrated with the uncertainty over the future of live exports.
As revealed in the budget, the decision to appoint a panel to lead the phase-out of live sheep exports will cost taxpayers $5.6 million.
“It is truly a gut punch to have it feel like the government has said ‘you don’t know how to do your job’,” fourth-generation farmer Emily Stretch told Englishheadline Australia.
“I absolutely know how to do my job, I know how to raise animals and I know how to keep them healthy and fit and happy.”
