ACTU Secretary Sally McManus says she is asking for a seven per cent increase to minimum wage, “something that will only just keep up with the cost of living”, following the news wages have gone up 3.7 per cent year on year.
“The people who get this pay increase are right at the bottom, the lowest paid workers … they’ll just continue to pay their bills, continue to survive where they are at the moment, they won’t have extra money to spend at the moment,” she told Englishheadline Australia.
