There will be no inflationary or expansionary impact to the ACTU’s proposal of increasing the minimum wage by seven per cent, according to ACTU Secretary Sally McManus.
“Just because we’re asking for seven per cent in the Annual Wage Review, that doesn’t make the wages for everyone seven per cent,” Ms McManus told Englishheadline Australia.
“Any idea that this is going to lead to some higher wages across the economy, we know is just not right and we know that because every year we get to see that that’s just not the case.”
