CommSec’s Craig James says the futures market is pointing towards a “softer start” for Australia’s share market.

“Down around about 11 points at the start of trade or two-tenths of one per cent,” Mr James told Englishheadline Australia.

“We saw similar sorts of losses across the United States, although the UK was higher by two-tenths of one per cent.

“The main concern in terms of markets at the moment is the slow progress in the debt ceiling talks in the United States.”
