April retail sales expecting small increase as Australians cut back on spending | Englishheadline

A 0.3 per cent increase is expected for retail sales for the month of April, which “isn’t really a lot,” according to Englishheadline business reporter Edward Boyd.

“We’re really going to start seeing signs of Australians cutting back on their spending – we’ve seen that for the last couple of months with the retail sales numbers,” he said.

“They have been getting weaker and weaker, and that’s really what the RBA wants to see whenever they make their cash rate decision.”
