Union bosses see labour hire as a barrier to worker unionisation | Englishheadline

Union bosses’ dislike for labour hire firms is unfounded, despite their vital role in industries like mining, according to Manager of Opposition Business Paul Fletcher.

“The fact is that the union bosses don’t like labour hire firms because they see it as a threat to getting as many workers unionised as possible,” Mr Fletcher told Englishheadline Australia.

“Even though labour hire makes up only a bit over two per cent of the entire workforce and meets important needs in our very competitive and highly productive mining sector in our other big industries to deal with peaks and troughs.”
