People in New South Wales, southeast Queensland and South Australia are set to face hefty increases in their power bills after the energy regulator set caps on price rises.
Households are set to see increases of up to 25 per cent in their power bills, which could mean hundreds of dollars.
This comes after the Australian Energy Regulator moved to release the final default market offer – this is the cap put on prices that consumers can be charged for their power.
The hardest hit parts are going to be South Australia and parts of New South Wales when the caps on price rises kick in on July 1.
