A young mother who was allegedly stabbed to death in Melbourne‘s south east on Tuesday morning had plans of becoming a police officer, her former partner has tragically revealed.
Monique Lezsak has been remembered as a “great mum” by her children’s father Jye Carter, who reportedly learnt of her death after friends sent him media reports of a stabbing near his former partner’s home.
“I just want to say that she is the most beautiful person,” Mr Carter told reporters in a suburban courtroom near the crime scene, The Age reports.
“She’s a great mum. One of our kids has autism, and she has put 100 per cent into our kids and her own family.
“I couldn’t fault her in any way.”
Homicide Squad investigating incident
Police were notified of “an altercation” between a man and a woman in the Endeavour Hills home around 7.30 am, with the woman, believed to be Ms Lezsak, confirmed dead at the scene.
Authorities believe both individuals were known to one another, and the man was taken to hospital in a serious condition under police guard.
It is understood Ms Lezsak and Mr Carter’s 9-year-old twins were inside the home when the alleged stabbing took place and police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
The tragedy on Tuesday comes only days after the body of Tatiana Dokhotaru was found in her Sydney apartment after authorities received an anonymous triple-0 call thought to be from the victim less than 24 hours prior. Police found the 34-year-old’s body on Saturday after a concerned neighbour contacted authorities. Her partner Danny Zayat, 28, was arrested and is facing domestic violence related charges.
