Delay in power station’s return may spike Queensland’s wholesale prices | Englishheadline

An increase in wholesale power prices is on the horizon in Queensland as the return of a major power station is delayed.

Two units of the Callide Power Station shuttered due to a significant fire and structural collapse, have been confirmed to remain offline until July of next year.

This extension, a shift from the planned September reactivation, prolongs a two-year shutdown period which initially disrupted power for nearly half a million Queensland customers.
