Englishheadline Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Penny Wong discussed in a call with the Prime Minister of Qatar the strip-searching of Australian women back in 2020.
Mr Clennell said however, according to the Foreign Minister, they did not discuss the air services agreement the Qatari government wants to expand.
“It’s a curious phone call indeed,” he said.
“What was also curious is Penny Wong was asked in the Senate about Qatar Airways yesterday and this controversy – she never mentioned this phone call, why?”
