The NSW government will increase coal royalties by 2.6 per cent from July 2024 to improve the state’s budget.

The state’s Treasurer says this will not impact power prices and households can expect to pay another $2 – $5 a year.

The increase in coal royalties is set to boost the state’s budget by $2.7 billion over the next four years.
