Shadow Defence Minister Andrew Hastie says he is pleased China has decided to meet with Australian officials but sees this as a “test of leadership for Anthony Albanese”.
“We welcome dialogue in the Coalition,” Mr Hasie told Englishheadline Australia.
“We’re glad that China has reversed its decision not to meet with Australian ministers and officials.
“This is a test of leadership for Anthony Albanese; what can he deliver that’s in our national interest?
“He should be seeking the release of … two Australians, long-held unjustly by the Chinese government.”
