THE 2023 MTV Video Music Awards are over – and Taylor Swift went home with four big wins.

The superstar accepted the Best Pop Award from NSYNC and “fangirled” over the iconic group’s reunion before later accepting the VMAs for Song of the Year and Best Direction for her song, Anti-Hero, and taking home the biggest award of the night, Video of the Year.

Shakira also received a big win after receiving the Video Vanguard Award – making her the first South American recipient of the huge honor.

Alongside Taylor and Shakira, celebrities like Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Olivia Rodrigo were in attendance at Tuesday’s ceremony at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

  • Taylor took home four VMAs

    Taylor Swift left the 2023 MTV VMAs with four wins: Best Pop, Song of the Year, Best Direction, and Video of the Year.

    “This is unbelievable,” the star said as she accepted the Video of the Year Award.

    “I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me.”

    TAYLOR SWIFT wins the VMA for Video of the Year for her Anti-Hero music video.

    This is Taylor’s fourth win of the night.

  • Where is Run?

    An energetic performance featuring Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, and Lil Wayne celebrated 50 years of Hip-Hop with a medley.

    But fans are taking to social media to question where iconic DJ Rev Run is in the performance as DMC performed their songs together.

    “Where the heck is Run???” one fan wrote on X.

    Another noted: “WAIT!! Where is Rev Run?”

  • Best New Artist is…

    ICE SPICE wins the VMA for Best New Artist!

    “I just wanna thank my munchkins,” the rapper says, giving a shout-out to her fans.

    “Without God, none of this would be possible.”

  • Dove Cameron passes the torch

    Dove Cameron is announcing this year’s Best New Artist.

    Dove won last year’s VMA.

  • Best Direction goes to…

    TAYLOR SWIFT wins the VMA for Best Direction for her Anti-Hero music video.

    “I’m so lucky to work with my brilliant, brilliant collaborators,” Taylor says.

    This is her third win of the night.

  • Nicki teases a surprise

    While introducing the nominees for best direction, Nicki Minaj said she has a “big surprise coming at the end of the night.”

    She also teased the surprise earlier on X.

  • Fall Out Boy performs bizarre cover

    Pop-punk band Fall Out Boy performed a cover of We Didn’t Start The Fire by Billy Joel – but changed the lyrics so that they addressed the issues of the 2000s.

    Some of the shoutouts given included Brexit, Kanye vs Taylor Swift, Michael Phelps, Stranger Things, and Tiger King.

  • Karol G and Shakira win VMA

    Singers Shakira and Karol G won the VMA for Best Collaboration for their song TQG.

    Shakira and Karol G both performed during tonight’s show – and Shakira is also taking home the Video Vanguard Award.

  • VMA goes to…

    NICKI MINAJ wins the VMA for Best Hip-Hop for Super Freaky Girl.

    Nicki says that when she woke up this morning, she felt a “strong sense of gratitude.

    “Should I be mean right now or should I be nice?” the rapper says.

    She concludes: “It’s Barbie, b***h!”

  • Stray Kids perform

    K-Pop group Stray Kids are performing now.

    Earlier in tonight’s ceremony, the band won the VMA for Best K-Pop.

  • And the VMA goes to…

    Rema and Selena Gomez have won the VMA for Best Afrobeats for their song Calm Down.

    “Thank you so much, Rema, for believing in me,” Selena says and thanks Rema for choosing her to be on the song.

    “I want to send all my love to Nigeria, thank you.”

  • Diddy honored as Global Icon

    Rapper P. Diddy is performing on the VMAs stage now in his infamous red, shiny suit.

    After dominating the rap industry for nearly three decades, the musician is being honored tonight with the Global Icon Award.

  • Renee Rapp makes VMA debut

    Singer Renee Rapp took to the stage for the first time in her music career.

    Renee first garnered attention in 2018 after winning the prestigious Jimmy Award, but it was arguably her Broadway debut role in Mean Girls that put her on the map.

    In June 2019, Rapp took to the Broadway stage to play the role of Regina George, which was made famous by Rachel McAdams in the 2004 film of the same name.

    Additionally, she portrayed the role of Leighton Murray in the HBO Max comedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls.

    In February 2023, the singer released her debut EP, Everything To Everyone, which was followed by her debut album, Snow Angel, in August 2023.

  • What to know about Karol G

    Emily Ratajkowski introduced Colombian singer Karol G to the stage for her performance.

    Born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Karol G’s full name is Carolina Giraldo Navarro.

    At the age of 14, Karol G competed on the Colombian version of The X Factor, a reality talent show.

    Over the next few years, she studied music and released a few songs, performing with artists such as J Balvin.

  • Anitta thanks herself

    Anitta won the VMA for Best Latin.

    “I wanna thank myself because I work so hard,” Anitta said while laughing as she accepted the award.

    After an emotional performance of Last Time I Saw You, Nicki broke into a rap and announced an exclusive sneak peek at one of her new songs.

    The song she performed will be on Pink Friday 2, which is set to be released on November 17.

    This is the first time she’s ever performed this single.

    SZA isn’t at the show and the award has been accepted on her behalf.

    Brazilian star Anitta is performing after being introduced by Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline.

    Anitta rose to fame after her 2013 single, Show das Poderosas.

    During her career, she has won five MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Brazilian Act.

  • Stray Kids wins!

    Band Stray Kids has won the VMA for Best K-Pop.

    The group looked shocked as Dixie and Charli D’Amelio presented the award.

    “We have so much to show you guys, so please look forward to the future,” the group says.

    Taylor Swift asks *NSYNC if they’re going to get back together and says that they gave her the award from their “golden hands.”

    “Thank you for the friendship bracelets,” she tells the group.

    Her best friend, Selena Gomez, is seen standing and applauding for her as she accepts the award.
