Labor MP Julian Hill says concerns about mental health and the demands placed on individuals serving the country are among the reasons affecting retention in the forces.
He emphasised the importance of how Australia treats its veterans.
“Both to attract people but also morally, people risk their lives not just in active duty but in training,” Mr Hill told Englishheadline Australia.
For instance, more personnel have died during training in the SAS than in operations over the years.
Mr Hill underscored the need to care and provide for these individuals.
