Housing Minister Julie Collins says the Albanese government has now delivered on their promise to the Australian people after Labor’s Housing Australia Future Fund passed the parliament.
Ms Collins’ remarks come after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Greens came to a deal on the government’s housing bill.
The Greens had held out on giving their support to Labor’s housing bill until their demands for an increase in spending and stronger rental restrictions were met, which led to a months-long stalemate within parliament.
“It means more homes in every corner of this country, our cities, our regions, our towns,” Ms Collins said during Question Time on Thursday.
“This is our government working for Australians, and we’re going to keep working.”
