It is looking like there is “no end in sight” for the rental crisis in Australia, says REA Group Senior Economist Eleanor Creagh.

Ms Creagh said PropTrack reported national rental vacancy rates hitting a fresh low in August at just 1.1 per cent.

“With a significant tightening again through the month of August now, that’s actually the lowest level on record,” she told Englishheadline Australia.

Ms Creagh said rental vacancies had especially declined in Sydney and Melbourne.

“And vacancy rates remain below one per cent in Brisbane, in Adelaide, and in Perth – hitting another fresh record low in August as well.”
