Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen says it is time for the Liberals to “put up or shut up” about the transition to renewable energy in Australia.
Mr Bowen said the Liberal Party needs to answer concerns about the expensive nuclear energy push or reveal “what their alternative is”.
“Nuclear is the wrong fit for Australia, it’s not a flexible source.
“Certainly not cheap and it’s not on the timeframe.
“We’re talking late 2030s, early 2040s at best – are they really suggesting we do nothing until then.”
