Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker has spoken of his disappointment with the refusal of more flights into Australia.
The airline boss stopped short of explicitly directing any criticism at the government, instead choosing to wait for the outcome of an impending Senate inquiry into the debacle.
The airline supported Australians throughout the pandemic – flying them in and out of the country and transporting medical supplies.
Qantas, airport and Qatari officials have been called to a Senate inquiry this week to discuss the decision.
Mr Al Baker hopes the government will hear their case before making a decision.
