The woman who claims Russell Brand raped her against the wall of his Los Angeles home in 2012 said she knows “the demon underneath” his wellness persona as she revealed more details of their sordid relationship on Sunday.
The unidentified woman, who goes by the pseudonym Nadia, scoffed at Brand’s online presence as a wellness influencer who has gained a massive following online in recent years.
“He’s saying one thing and I know the demon underneath it,” she told the UK’s Sunday Times, which broke the story along with UK’s Channel 4 Dispatches.
“He wants to help with meditation, he’s all in this wellness world … It just makes me so mad that he has a platform for this.”
The woman decided to go public after she learned that a story about various accusations against him was being written.
“What do I want out of this?” she added. “Just for him to stop … I’m just sick seeing men get away with this.”
Brand, 48, is accused of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse by four women between 2006 and 2013 during the peak of his career.
The “Get Him to the Greek” actor has strenuously denied the claims and insisted that all the relationships were consensual.
Nadia claims she met the comedian at an event in Los Angeles and was raped by the star months later after she turned down his offer to have a threesome. She also wrote Brand a letter following the alleged attack in hopes of regaining “some of her power in the process,” the newspaper reported.
The woman, who was in her 30s at the time, said she introduced herself to Brand, then 37, during an after party for a “trial run” for his new show “Brand X.”
He leaned in and kissed her right away, she claims and the two began exchanging texts in May 2012 following the party.
The next month, she said the pair had consensual sex at Brand’s Hollywood house.
“I did go around and we did have sex. He’s like, ‘Do you want to use a condom or not use a condom?’ and I’m like ‘No, absolutely we’re using a condom,’” she recalled to the Sunday Times. “And he did respect my wishes.”
Several days later, Brand suggested in a text she “bring a friend” and that he also said, “I feel like I require a little chaos,” Nadia claimed.
She saw Brand again on July 1, 2012, after he reached out to her late and pleaded with her to come over.
When she entered his unlocked door, he allegedly emerged from his bedroom naked and began kissing her, which she called “kind of fun” before things took a turn.
“He pushed me up against the wall. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’ And he’s like ‘I have a friend here and I, I want you to come in the bedroom,’” she reportedly alleged. “I’m like, ‘No, that’s not happening, we’re not doing that.’”
She then tried to get away and move to another wall, but Brand followed her and allegedly raped her without a condom, the Sunday Times reported.
After wondering how she was “going to get out of here alive,” she eventually managed to flee to her car.
“I’m sorry,” Brand allegedly messaged her at 3:29 a.m., the news outlet reported. “That was crazy and selfish. I hope you can forgive me, I know that you’re a lovely person. X.”
He also tried calling her, but she didn’t pick up, with multiple sources confirming the phone number to the Sunday Times. Nadia later replied, telling Brand he needed help while he messaged her back he was sorry and he would make it up to her, according to the news outlet.
The alleged victim was treated at a rape crisis center the same day, according to medical records cited by the newspaper.
Later that year, Nadia sent Brand a letter originally meant to stay between her and her therapist.
“Do you know what you put me through? My body through? My emotions and body are turned upside down . . . You scared the shit out of me on July 1st, I thought in any situation I would be strong enough to fight someone oh,” part of the letter reported on by the Sunday Times read.
“But when it’s someone you know, you don’t expect to be put in that position. You completely broke me down.”
