Former Victoria Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says the intergenerational debt federally in Australian states is a “big worry”.
“The increasing debt is a considerable burden,” he told Englishheadline Australia.
“We acknowledge that that’s not just run up by this government obviously but by its predecessor governments.”
The federal government’s Intergenerational Report showed Australia is facing 40 years of deficits and a slowing economy.
“But to the extent that you can tell from the forward estimates how the NSW economy is actually going to perform, it’s still very hard to know at this time,” Mr Kroger said.
