The manhunt for Stanley Turvey has entered its third day as his family pleads for the fugitive to turn himself in to the police.

The 33-year-old fired a warning shot into the air before fleeing from police during a standoff near Shepparton on Monday.

An armed Mr Turvey allegedly forced a man to drive him across the border to his uncle’s Finlay home in the New South Wales Riverina region.

Authorities searched the property but were unable to locate Mr Turvey despite calls from his uncle to hand himself in “before it gets too bad”.

The fugitive is now believed to be travelling in a white Toyota Hilux, stolen during one of many altercations on Tuesday, including assaulting a woman and threatening construction workers.

Police say he was last headed back towards the Greater Shepparton region.
