Qantas has chosen not to oppose an application made by Turkish Airlines to start flying into Australia.
Transport Minister Catherine King confirmed she has indeed received the application.
The submission would allow the airline to begin flying into Melbourne and Sydney within the next 12 months.
Qantas decided not to oppose the move after backlash surrounding the Qatar Airways decision.
The Qatar decision which has now resulted in Qantas being involved in a Senate committee inquiry.
