CFMEU Victoria State Secretary John Setka says confidential polling shows 87 per cent of participants are prepared to strike for decent pay rises.

Mr Setka’s comments come as the CFMEU are set to begin negotiating their new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

“We hope we don’t have to go on strike – our industry has been through a lot,” he told Englishheadline Australia.

“Our members have been told, listen the economy is a bit fickle … but then every time they switch on the news, you can’t get the smile off Alan Joyce from Qantas’ face.

“It’s a little bit almost like there is one rule for some people and there’s some rules for other people and it is a bit hypocritical to watch that.”
