Jason Watkins and Tala Gouveia were filming dramatic scenes which involved a terrifying knifeman on Friday for the third series of McDonald And Dodds in Bath.
Tala – who plays DCI Lauren McDonald – was taken hostage by the criminal while Jason, 55, who plays DS Dodds in the ITV show could be seen running to her aid with fellow detective Lily Sacofsky who plays DC Milena Paciorkowski.
Filming took place at the Dundas Aqueduct on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Monkton Combe, Bath.

Jason could also be seen with a gun and a knife which he retrieved from the knifeman and the lady who eventually shot the knifeman.
Jason dressed in a light-coloured coat with a suit underneath as he shot the newest scenes on set.
Meanwhile Tala looked smart in a navy trousers and a dark coat as she fought the man who had accosted her.

The show follows Jason in the role of Dodds who is a shy Detective Sergeant.
Dodds has been partnered with an outgoing Detective Chief Inspector who is played by Tala.
They aim to solve crimes in the West Country city – and the previous seasons have starred Martin Kemp and Robert Lindsay.
