He’s Australia’s undisputed king of talkback radio.
But John Laws was spotted enjoying some well-deserved down time on Friday, as he joined a gaggle of his media mates for a boozy lunch at Otto restaurant in Sydney.
The 86-year-old appeared in high spirits as he sat down for a meal alongside fellow radio star Ben Fordham, Weekend Today host Richard Wilkins andpresenter Peter Stefanovic.

John looked suave as ever in a pink shirt, a striped jacket and a Louis Vuitton scarf.
He wore a pair of sunglasses upon arrival, while his hair appeared windswept in the outdoor setting.
Laws’ media pals looked equally as smart in black shirts and matching blazers.
Radio veteran Laws has spent almost 70 years behind the microphone, with his distinctive voice earning him the nickname ‘the golden tonsils’.

He retired briefly in 2007, before returning to the studio to host 2SM’s morning show four years later.
Laws lost his wife Caroline to cancer in February last year after 40 years of marriage, and was joined by a who’s who of Sydney’s entertainment scene at her funeral.
Mrs Laws, who died aged 82 after battling cancer, met her future second husband 69 years ago when they were teenagers.
After first meeting the pair didn’t see each other for 20 years as Caroline travelled to London to pursue ballet dancing and married another man.

Upon her return, Laws was a twice-divorced fully-fledged radio star and began to woo her. When the pair was finally reunited it was appropriately at Luna Park’s Tunnel of Love.
‘As soon as she came back into my life that was it, she was the woman and we’ve been together ever since,’ Laws has said.
They married in 1976 and between them had nine children from their three earlier marriages.
Mrs Laws was hospitalised with bronchial conditions in Rome on the pair’s annual European holiday at the start of 2016.

Laws said after his wife’s death: ‘I am lost’.
Radio 2SM, where Laws now hosts the morning show, announced Caroline had died at the couple’s home on February 24, 2020.
