WAG Zoe Marshall rushed to hospital ‘writhing, sweating and crying in pain’ while her NRL star husband Benji is at work

WAG Zoe Marshall was rushed to hospital over the weekend.

The mother-of-two revealed the scary news on her Instagram page on Sunday, and said her Baby Bubble podcast co-host Sean Szeps ended up having to take her to the emergency room as her husband, NRL star Benji Marshall, was working.

The 37-year-old, who is mother to Fox, four, and four-month-old daughter Eve, did not disclose what condition she was suffering from, but said she was ‘writhing, sweating and crying in pain’.

‘Yesterday I was unwell. Physically in a lot of pain,’ the 37-year-old explained in a lengthy caption attached to a selfie she took with her son.

‘To the point where @seanszeps had to take me to the hospital.

The poor guy had just been there a week ago. I felt s**t that he had to be there two weeks in a row. Benji was working, I had the kids looked after and I needed to go,’ she continued.

Zoe said the ‘hardest part’ of the ordeal was keeping it together in front of her son Fox.

‘He knew something was up and he was scared, and he was putting on an awkward front trying to show me he wasn’t,’ she said.

‘I tried to comfort him but I was in too much pain and I needed him out of the room so I could be as uncomfortable as I needed to be without consoling him,’ the podcast host said. ‘It’s what we do. Without thought. We protect them.’

She reflected in her post on how parents have the most ‘incredible instinct’ to ‘suck it up’ and ‘push the pain down’ while a child is in the room.

It took the footy WAG back to the time when she lost her mother when she was only 20 years old.

‘It made me think of how it must’ve felt for my mum when she was dying, to look at me, looking at her for comfort when she was fighting for her life. What a moment. How horrific for her,’ she continued.

‘I know how much she wanted to provide comfort and protect me. What we do for our children. How powerful that is.’
