LeBron James,, thinks something fishy is going on.
While it has not been confirmed that James tested positive for COVID-19,that the Lakers star is expected to miss several games.
James has thus far declined to elaborate on what exactly he thinks is fishy, but he used just about every fish emoji available to man in a Wednesday tweet to illustrate is point.
The Lakers played without James on Tuesday night and rallied to beat the Kings, 117-92.
“He said he’s good,” Anthony Davis said after the game in a further hint that James did indeed test positive. “I think he’s asymptomatic, which is a good sign, but we want to make sure that he gets back. Health is most important. This is bigger than basketball. He has a family. We want to make sure that he’s good no matter what.”
James said before the season that he had been vaccinated,Currently, 97 percent of the NBA’s players are fully vaccinated.
The Lakers, who were on the shortlist of preseason NBA title favorites, have faltered out of the gate this season. They are 12-11, clinging to the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowskithat the NBA conducted a recent study which cited “further evidence of a need for booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines for league personnel.” This report — which came out before the news that James was in the protocols and Bulls guard Coby White, also fully vaccinated, tested positive — said that 34 “breakthrough cases” amongst fully vaccinated players or team staff had been documented.
