A new teaser trailer for the upcoming series The Book Of Boba Fett was released on Star Wars‘ official YouTube channel on Saturday.

In the clip, the titular character, played by Temuera Morrison, was seen putting on his iconic helmet and taking on various adversaries while making his presence known to his counterparts.

The forthcoming program serves as a spinoff to the highly popular series The Mandalorian, and it is set to premiere on Disney+ in just over a month.

New look: A new teaser trailer for the upcoming series The Book Of Boba Fett was released on Star Wars’ official YouTube channel on Saturday

The trailer began with two figures approaching a space dock while a pair of assassins jumped from rooftop to rooftop in search of one of their targets.

The scene then changed to a giant palace in the desert reminiscent of the one formerly inhabited by Jabba the Hutt, and Fett was seen taking hold of his iconic helmet.

Following an aerial shot of a desert city, two figures were then seen approaching the mercenary’s Starship.

A group of figures, including Fennec Shand, played by Ming-Na Wen, were shown assembled at a banquet table during an important meeting.

The mercenary then rose to greet his guests and later spoke the only line in the trailer: ‘I am Boba Fett.’

The pair were later shown fighting off a group of soldiers sent to assassinate them, and the trailer ended with the Starship jetting off into the desert.

Development on The Book Of Boba Fett began in the early 2010s when several projects centered on minor characters from the Star Wars universe began to be optioned.

The character was previously set to be the center of his own film, although the project was ultimately shelved.

The mercenary later appeared in several episodes of the second season of The Mandalorian, which gave rise to speculation about a potential spinoff.

An official confirmation about the project came at the end of the episode Chapter 16: The Rescue, during which Boba Fett prominently appeared in a post-credits scene.

Although many fans believed that the character would become the new focus of The Mandalorian, series creator Jon Favreau clarified that a new series centered on Boba Fett was being produced.

Physical production on the program initially began in November of last year, with Los Angeles serving as a primary filming location.

Several high-profile filmmakers, including Robert Rodriguez, Bryce Dallas Howard and Favreau, were brought on to direct episodes of the program.

Lucasfilm’s Executive Creative Director, Dave Filoni, also helmed an installment of the forthcoming project.

Production on the project lasted for several months before the crew wrapped this past June.

The Book of Boba Fett is currently set to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service on December 29th.
